Top 10 Renovation Ideas by Resale Value

One of the things we want to share is what we’re seeing in terms of residential remodeling demand. We’ve seen a continued strong demand from home remodeling for the end of 2008 into the first quarter of 2009. While people are definitely more budget conscious than they were five years ago, people in the Boston area are still investing in their homes.

If you’ve kept up with our blog posts, you might have seen some of the reasons for why remodeling has stayed strong in the Boston area while it has dramatically dropped off in other parts of the country. Some of the reasons New England’s housing remodeling and housing market have done well compared to other areas include a much smaller housing price bubble; fewer excess homes to be absorbed and a diverse economy in the Boston area.

Thinking about renovating, here are ten of the top projects based on ROI (return on investment), which are specific to the Boston area.

Top 10 Renovation Ideas by Resale Value:

2. Minor Kitchen Remodel
3. Bathroom Remodel
4. Two-story addition
5. Deck Addition
6. Attic Bedroom Addition
7. Master Suite Addition
